Davison Bowl (new comp for men)

Some of you many have noticed there are a few new competitions on this season. Two of them are doubles/team events early season (2 man Texas Scamble & 3 man team 6x6x6) but the main one is the Davison Bowl which will become one of the Major Competitions to compete for from now on at BAGC.

The late Sheila Davison who passed away a few years ago was an avid supporter of the golf club. Sheila regularly supported team golf and throughly enjoyed spending many hours watching, analysing and reporting on the match progress. This support was greatly received by many members of the TSU team both past and present. The Games Committee have decided to honour Sheila by naming a competition in her name following her dedication and support throughout the years.  The decision was granted and well received by husband Cyril Davison fror which we are grateful.

On Sunday 27th May there will be a qualifying strokeplay competition to which players from 0 to 9 handicap can enter, the top 16 gross scores will then qualify for the knockout part of the competition, count back will be used in the event of a tie. The knockout part of the competition will be as follows:

All matches to be played off scratch handicap.
Competitors will have 4 weeks to arrange each round and the round deadlines will run along side the Ellis, Haigh & Men's Foursomes etc etc. The winner of the 2018 Davison Bowl will then gain automatic qualification to the 2019 competition were the top 15 gross scores will join the winner.

Hopefully this will be well received by the members and hope it will be well supported.
