PROCEDURE FOR SUSPENSION OF PLAY/COURSE CLOSURE DURING COMPETITIONS.
The signal for suspension of play will be several short blasts on the siren.
Procedure when play is suspended by the Committee (Rule 6-8B)
When play is suspended by by the Committee or its Authorised Representative, if the players in a match or group are between the play of two holes, they shall not resume play until the Committee or its Representative has ordered a resumption of play.
If they are in the process of playing a hole, they may continue providing they do so without delay.If they choose to continue they shall discontinue either before or immediately after completing the hole and shall not resume until the Committee or its Representative has ordered a resumption of play. NOTE: if you decide to cease play during play of a hole, please ensure that you mark the position of the ball before picking it up.
THE PENALTY FOR BREACH OF RULE 6-8B IS DISQUALIFICATION.
PROCEDURE FOR RESUMPTION OF PLAY
The signal for resumption of play will be THREE (3) short blasts on the siren.
PROCEDURE FOR CLOSURE OF THE COURSE
In the event of having to close the course, the signal will be ONE (1) long blast on the siren. If play is suspended and cannot be resumed, then if 60% of the competitors have completed their round the competition result will stand.
During general play course closure will be signalled by one long blast on the siren.
IN THE EVENT OF LIGHTNING PLAYERS ARE ADVISED TO LEAVE THE CLOURSE IMMEDIATELY
